The British Ambassador to Azerbaijan held a meeting contingency planning on pandemic flu on Thursday 7 May in the Hyatt Meeting and Conference Center. The Ambassador has written a letter to British companies and community on the recent outbreaks of swine influenza in Mexico and elsewhere including in the UK.

Dr. Carolyn Browne, the Birtish Ambassador to Azerbaijan held  a press-conference in the Embassy on Wednesday 1 April about new student immigration system that launched in the Uk on 31 March.

Sir Mark Lyall Grant, Political Director of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London paid a day visit to Baku on Friday 13 February 2009. Mr. Grant was a guest speaker of Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy  where he discussed with Azerbaijan's future diplomats the UK's foreign policy in the 21st Century. The British Ambassador Carolyn Browne and Deputy Head of Mission Simon Tonge attended the event.
