The British Embassy in Baku represents the British Government in Azerbaijan. Its role is to liase with the Azerbaijani Government and Institutions on behalf of UK institutions and Government Departments, and to deliver the UK's international priorities.

- Promote a Southern Energy Corridor to increase Europe’s energy security
- Promote British business interests
- Improved respect for democracy, good governance and human rights
- Progress on Nagorno Karabakh (Joint Objective with British Embassy Yerevan)
- Combat terrorism and reduce the potential for religious extremism
- Strengthen Azerbaijan’s commitment to NATO and its standards
- Encourage a closer partnership between Azerbaijan and the EU
- Provide a fair and effective visa service, and support managed migration
- Provide support for British nationals
