British Embassy Baku: Increase in Passport fees on 3 September 2009 (01/09/2009)
Passport fees will increase by £0.50 for all applications received on or after 3 September 2009. This is due to an increase in the Consular Premium element of the passport fee which is used to cover the cost of consular assistance services provided by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) abroad.
We have 'rounded up/down' the revised fees as appropriate against our Consular Rate of Exchange (set at £1 = AZN 1.40 to avoid frequent changes) so that the cost of a standard (32 page) passport will remain unchanged at AZN 174 / AZN 111 (child). The revised fee for 48 page (jumbo) biometric passports will be increased to AZN 211 (£150.50).
